The 2013 Bison Bicycle Classic will be held on Saturday, September 28th, with tours starting at 8:30 a.m. from the Recreation and Wellness Center located on the west side of the OBU campus. The 2013 edition (our 13th year!) will add a new 75-mile tour in addition to our annual 25 and 50 mile events. No races will be held in conjunction with this year's event.
The Bison Bicycle Classic is a service project for the OBU Division of Music raising money for music scholarships as well as local philanthropic organizations. The most recent beneficiary was the Shawnee Chapter of Habitat for Humanity. The tours have raised approximately $10,000 for music scholarships and local civic organizations in the past 13 years.
The 2013 edition of the Bison Bicycle Classic will benefit music scholarships as well as the Endowment for Young Musicians. The Endowment for Young Musicians is a new program set up by the OBU Division of Music to support young community musicians who otherwise could not participate in musical training and education.
A board of OBU music faculty, students, and community members will oversee the procurement of funding and allocation of resources. Please join us to provide funds for music scholarships and to assist the local community. We appreciate your continued support and attendance at the Bison Bicycle Classic.
Please be sure to download the printable agreement/waiver.
