Applying to the Intensive English Program

Students must meet the following requirements to apply for Admission to the IEP.

  • Student must have completed Secondary School
  • Student must be at least 16 years of age
  • Student must be a non-native speaker of English

Application Steps

Step 1

Decide which semester you would like to enter the IEP so that you know the deadline for application and have time to complete the necessary paperwork.

Deadlines for application to the IEP:

  • Fall Semester: July 15
  • Spring Semester: December 15
  • Summer Semester: April 15

Complete and submit the following documents:

Students transferring into the IEP must complete the Transfer Verification Form.

Athletes must provide an official letter from their high school stating a 50% or higher graduation rank.

Translation

For translation, submit official documents and certified results to the following:

For a current list of Span Tran’s fees, please click here.The applicant is responsible for the payment of fees. Usually a general evaluation of these documents is adequate for admission purposes, but OBU reserves the right to ask for an additional course analysis, if necessary.

Step 3

Upon acceptance to the IEP, the student will receive an I-20 and instructions for securing an F-1 Student Visa. Students must also secure a passport valid for the appropriate length of time for study.
