Biography

Dr. Payn is the Assistant Professor of Sports and Recreation in the Health and Human Performance Division. He joined the OBU faculty in 2016 after serving as a sports minister for over 15 years in churches in Houston, Dallas, Southeast Georgia, and Oklahoma. His passion is using sports and recreation as a tool to build Gospel centered relationships between the church and communities. He has led several international sports ministry trips with churches and as a GO Trip mentor with OBU.
