Biography
Joan Klerekoper joined the OBU faculty in 2017 as an Assistant Professor of Nursing. Her clinical experience includes medical/surgical nursing, ICU and Intermediate Care Nursing. She took a hiatus from nursing for 22 years to homeschool her seven children, but returned to bedside nursing in 2009, and completed her MSN in 2016. Early in her career she spent 3 years as a faculty member at Lutheran Medical Center School of Nursing in St. Louis. After returning to bedside nursing in 2009, she served as a clinical preceptor for numerous nursing students from nursing schools in the East Texas area. While working IMC in East Texas, she obtained certification in progressive care (PCCN). She also frequently volunteers as a camp nurse for a couple of summer Bible camps.
