OBU’s Green and Gold Gala is a biennial event that brings together university supporters, alumni, faculty, staff and community leaders for an unforgettable evening of philanthropy.
Each Gala features a nationally known speaker who inspires excellence and promotes the importance of investing in others. The purpose of the Gala is to raise crucial funds in support of our university's mission and primarily scholarships for students.
In order for students to gain the life-changing experiences offered through the world-class education on Bison Hill, scholarships play a key role in attracting and retaining students in their college journey. The generosity shown from this event, and other efforts promote OBU’s mission to equip Future Shapers to live all of life, all for Jesus.
The Green and Gold Gala is an enchanting night of celebration where we pause to recognize the impact giving can make when we come together to shape the future of education and opportunity. The rich history of the Gala has spotlighted past speakers such as Tim Tebow, Henry Winkler, Mary Lou Retton, Archie Manning, Lou Holtz, Mike Huckabee, Dr. Benjamin Carson and Tony Dungy.
In addition to the keynote address, attendees are treated to a lovely evening of dining, live entertainment, student testimonials, and a true taste of the Bison spirit.
We are excited to announce the 2025 OBU Green and Gold Gala will be held April 1, 2025 on Bison Hill with John C. Maxwell, #1 New York Times bestselling author, world-renowned speaker, leadership expert and founder of Maxwell Leadership as our keynote speaker.
