Bellevue Completes Sweep of Bison

March 2, 2005

Six Bison errors led to five unearned runs as fifth-ranked Bellevue completed a two-day, tow-game sweep of OBU Wednesday with a 12-1 win.

Oklahoma Baptist avoided a run rule, down 10-0 in the bottom of the eighth, when Adam Dalby singled home Brad Miller to break up the shutout.

A.J. Sostich homered from the Bruins in the fifth for one of the few runs that was accompanied by an error. Jeff LaPoint homered in the ninth for BU.

Three of the errors came on attempts to retire base-stealers.

Five different Bison had one base hit apiece in the game.

Sean Dryden took the loss for the Bison, allowing six runs - three earned - in five innings. He allowed five hits, walked five and fanned three. Wes Moreland, Chad Rhoades and J. Vinson all saw action on the mound for OBU.

The Bison, now 11-5, will play Sterling College in a single game Friday at 2 p.m.
