Oklahoma Baptist University's baseball team shed its three game slump with a 6-2 win over Sterling College Friday at Bison Field.
Brent Roberts held Sterling to two runs, one earned, while scattering seven hits over the first 6.1 innings before J Vinson and Wes Moreland combined for 2.2 innings of hitless relief.
OBU broke up a scoreless tie in the fourth with a four-run outburst. Danny Guidry tripled and scored on a base hit by Nick Bakich. Rett Terrell singled Bakich forward before Adam Dalby's RBI single.
Terrell scored on a ground out by Kip Keith and courtesy runner Daniel Hayes came home on a wild pitch.
Sterling scored their unearned run in the top of the sixth, but OBU answered in its half of the frame with singles by Dalby, Aaron Dickson and Frankie Ibarra, with Ibarra getting an RBI.
Felix Peguero added an RBI single for the final 6-2 margin.
The Bison and Sterling will play a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday.
