OBU Sweeps Sterling

Brent Terrell and Jason Stark combined on a six-hitter in the opener with Terrell going five scoreless innings of one-hit ball for the win.

Danny Guidry doubled home Felix Peguero for a 1-0 lead in the first. Daniel Hayes had an RBI single and Aaron Dickson had a sacrifice fly in the second for a 3-0 advantage.

Guidry had a solo home run in the third.

The Bison added its last five runs in the fourth. Peguero walked and Guidry and Nick Bakich were hit by pitches all with the bases loaded, followed by a sacrifice fly by Rett Terrell and an RBI single by Adam Dalby.

In the second game, Chris Ryan cruised through the first five innings while OBU built an 8-0 lead, but Sterling scored six earned runs after the second out of the inning to make a game of it. Wes Moreland entered and struck out the first batter he faced to end the inning.

Moreland finished to earn the save.

Chris Cox gave the Bison a 2-0 lead with a two-run double in the second.

Frankie Ibarra drew a bases loaded walk and Peguero was hit by a pitch with the bases still full for a 4-0 OBU lead.

OBU added its final four in the fifth on a wild pitch, an RBI single by Dalby and a two-run triple by Cox, who finished with two hits and four RBI.

The sweep puts the Bison at 14-5 on the season with a 1 p.m. game against Peru State scheduled for Monday.
