Oklahoma Baptist's 4x400 relay team recorded the best time this season and OBU hit 15 qualifying marks at the K.T. Woodman Meet at Wichita State Saturday.
Keyonna Hornbuckle, Melissa Mount, Kyta Ferrer and Kyli Bean finished the 4x400 relay in second place behind Wichita State, but recorded the best time in that event across the NAIA with a 3:45.13.
OBU got big outings in the men's hurdle events with Patrick Brown and Lamar Baskin both qualifying in the 110 and 400 events. Brown won both with qualifying times of 14.10 and 52.38 seconds, respectively.
Baskin was fifth in the 110 at 14.72 and third in the 400 hurdles at 53.82.
OBU also was strong in the women's 800, where three Lady Bison qualified for the NAIA meet. Ferrer won with a 2:09.25, Bean was third at 2:11.39 and Mount was fifth at 2:16.20. All three times were in the NAIA Top 10 so far this season with Ferrer's the third best and Bean's the fifth best.
Mirriam Kaumba won the 10,000 meters with a NAIA top time of 34:46.
Landon Willets qualified in the 1500 meters, winning the Woodman event 3:53.80.
OBU qualified in two women's hurdles events. Sara Thurber was fifth in the 100 meter hurdles at 14.69 and Hornbuckle qualified in second in the 400 hurdles at 1:02.
Clint Goodson qualified in the 400 meters at 48.56 seconds, good enough for seventh place at WSU.
Dominique Chan Low was fifth in the triple jump at 47-00.75, just eclipsing the qualifying standard.
Jeremiah Campo lofted the discus 168-02 for a third place finish. Campo qualified with the fifth best throw in the country so far.
