Dr. Dennis Swanberg will be speaking in Oklahoma Baptist University's weekly Chapel service on Wednesday, Oct. 12, as part of Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma Day at OBU. Swanberg's appearance at OBU is being sponsored by the Baptist Foundation of Oklahoma.
Affectionately known to his national TV audiences as "The Swan," Swanberg is a teacher, speaker, author, counselor, preacher and TV host. The Dennis Swanberg Show and Swan's Place, his national televised cable television shows, are viewed by more than one million households.
He is a popular guest on national broadcasts of Focus on the Family. Called "America's Minister of Encouragement," Swanberg describes his ministry as "lifting hearts and leading people to a richer life."
A graduate from Baylor University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Swanberg has served as pastor of various churches including First Baptist Church, West Monroe, La. He and his wife, Lauree, have two grown sons, Chad and Dusty.
