Lady Bison Roll at Southwestern Kansas

Oklahoma Baptist University's Lady Bison golf team dominated the South Central Kansas Fall Invitational Tuesday, firing off team rounds of 321 and 311 for a 78-stroke win.

The Bison placed third on the men's side.

Four OBU women placed in top four with two tied for third. Maggie Cole won the tournament with rounds of 78 and 75. Her nine-over 153 was six strokes better than Laci Humphrey, who placed second with an 81 and a 78.

Jennifer Mann and Nicole Stafford tied for third at 160. Mann had an 82 and a 78 while Stafford was at 80 for both rounds.

Michelle Hunter was 10th at 178 to round out the OBU contingent.

OBU ended with a 632, well ahead of Newman (710), Seminole State (749), Southwestern Kansas (759) and Panhandle State (810).

The women round out the fall schedule at the Mary Hardin-Baylor Classic Oct. 17-18.

Josh Bryan and Jason Carpenter had top 10 finishes for the men, with Bryan leading the way in second place with a 71 and 73 for an even par 144. Carpenter was 10th at 152 with rounds of 78 and 74.

Mark Richards was 14th with a 74 and an 80 for 154. Tyler Hughes was 21st at 159, shooting a 79 and an 80. Jeremy Foster was 23rd at 160 with a pair of 80s.

The Bison team score of 609 trailed Newman (583) and Southwestern Kansas (589). Kansas Wesleyan was fourth at 624, followed by Panhandle State at 627 and Ottawa at 651.

The Bison finish the fall season Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at the Sleep Inn Classic in Oklahoma City.
