Tom Hubbard, using an assist from Sean Neal, slid a goal past Oklahoma Baptist keeper Joao Acedo to give USAO a 1-0 overtime win in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals Tuesday in Shawnee.
Just 80 seconds into the extra period, Hubbard's goal ended a perplexing day for the Bison, who had seven shots on goal snagged by Drover goalkeeper Shane Flanagan and another shot that bounded off the post and past the front of the goal.
The loss dropped the 11th-ranked and second-seeded Bison out of the SAC Tournament. OBU awaits a possible Region VI bid but that chance might be dimmed if USAO also upsets Southern Nazarene in the championship game.
The Bison's best chance came in the second half when Adauto Oliveira had time to line up a shot that hit the far post and bounced back away from OBU rebounders.
OBU is 14-4-2 on the season.
