Oklahoma Baptist University's Bison soccer team advanced to the NAIA Region VI Championship game with a 1-0 victory over the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma Friday.
The Bison, who lost to USAO in the semifinals of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament, scored the game's only goal in the first half on a shot by Fabio Pires.
OBU will play the top seed Southern Nazarene University at 3 p.m. Saturday. SNU advanced with a 4-0 victory over Texas Wesleyan University.
Saturday's winner advances automatically to the NAIA Tournament, with the loser likely to receive an at-large berth to nationals, which are in Daytona Beach, Fla., Nov. 16-22.
OBU lost to Southern Nazarene in the regular season, 4-2, with SNU's Dominique Nayaga getting two goals and two assists. Adauto Oliveira and Elijah Mwansanga had goals for the Bison in that game.
