Lady Bison Roll Past Central Christian

Article Date

Central Christian College was not much of a match for No. 25 Oklahoma Baptist University in a 77-50 women's basketball rout Saturday in the Noble Complex.

OBU guard Tabetha Eaton racked up 20 points and matched her career high with 10 rebounds to lead OBU to a 3-0 record in the last tune-up before the Lady Bison hit a run of three of the NAIA's top 40 teams in a span of four games.

OBU will play No. 20 Columbia on Monday, Lindenwood on Friday, No. 38 Texas Wesleyan on Saturday and fourth-ranked Union on Dec. 2.

The Lady Bison scored the first 11 points of the game with five coming from Eaton and the Lady Tigers got no closer than six for the rest of the game.

Dilenny Castillo and Rachel Heins scored three points apiece in a half-closing 13-2 run to give the Lady Bison at 39-18 halftime lead.

OBU spotted CCC the first six points of the second half, but started an 11-0 run midway through the second half and led 62-35 with 7:57 left in the game.

The lead peaked when Jessie Sullivan scored and Jennifer Jupin knocked in a three-pointer for a 74-43 lead with 2:02 left in the contest.

Central ended the game on a 7-3 flurry for the final 77-50 margin.

All 12 Lady Bison got in the game with Keely Tolin joining Eaton in double figures with a career-high 15 points.

OBU shot 43 percent from the field and hit 60.7 from the free throw line, but their best effort was not needed, thanks to a defense that forced 20 turnovers, including 15 steals. Eaton and Castillo had three steals apiece.
