Track Qualifies Eight More for Nationals

OBU did well in the men's 400 with T.J. Lightsey finishing third behind two Baylor runners and qualifying with a time of 48.00; both Adam Betterton and Ethan Mignard met the 'B' standard with 50.29 and 50.43 times, respectively.

In the men's 800, A.J. Carter came in seventh at 1:54.53 with Prophet Bailey on his heels at 1:55.38 in eighth, both qualifying times.

Adding to the list of qualifiers, the men's 4x400 team recorded an eighth-place time of 3:17.02.

On the women's side, Yesenia Avila finished eighth in the 800 meters at 2:18.26 to qualify.

Two athletes and a relay team bettered their qualification times.

Marissa Mosely improved upon her 200 meter time, finishing at 25.24 in 14th place. The 4x400 women's relay team recorded an eighth-place 3:53.54 time, and Lamar Baskin beat his 60 meter hurdle mark with his fifth-place 8.08. Also in the 60 meter hurdles, Tracy Drew met the provisional mark in the preliminaries with an 8.44 time.

The women's distance medley team won the race in a time of 12:57.67, good for a provisional qualification.

In the pole vault, Seth Brown hit the provisional standard with a 15-1 effort, but he already qualified in December for the national meet.

OBU goes back to Manhattan, Kan. for the second time this season Friday and Saturday for the Wildcat Invitational.
