Nichole Jones, the 2007 Texas State runner-up in the 800 meters, has signed to run for Oklahoma Baptist University next season.
Jones, a senior at Holliday High School, is the daughter of Brenda and Donny Jones.
She has qualified for the regionals in the 800 meters all four years of her high school career, winning the event in 2007. She also was a member of the two-time state championship cross country teams at HHS.
A member of the National Honor Society, Jones is fifth in her graduating class and a Superintendent's Award winner.
"OBU has a beautiful campus with a lot of really great people," Jones said. "I really enjoyed the time I spent with the track team and the coaches. They were awesome. I also really liked it that while on my way back home, a professor called to visit with me. It was really neat to know that the professors would care that much. I'm excited about continuing to develop as a student and athlete here."
