Bison Open Regional with WBU Tuesday

The Bison, who toppled the third-seed and 12th-ranked Pioneers 17-3, will play Wayland Baptist at 6 p.m., Tuesday, at Oklahoma City University's Jim Wade Stadium.

That game's winner will play at 6 p.m., Wednesday, against the winner of the Oklahoma City-Texas Wesleyan contest. The OBU-WBU loser plays the Lubbock Christian-Northwood winner at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday.

The Bison and Pioneers are 2-2 against each other this season, but all four games were played in Plainview on Wayland Baptist's home soil.

In the postseason, OBU hung 10 runs on All-Conference pitcher Todd Jeffress over the course of five innings.

In the four games the teams have played against each other, Mason Reilly is batting .400 for the Bison, with Chris Chambers and Josh Collazo hitting .385. Christian Ruiz has two home runs and seven RBI, while Josh Kirkpatrick has two home runs and nine RBI in the series.

Brett Sheppard has hit .462 against OBU pitching, while Ben Seymore and Vinnie Biancamano are hitting .444 and .400, respectively.

Collazo, Chambers and Reilly also had outstanding tournaments last week. Collazo batted .478 with a home run and seven RBI. Chambers hit .476 with three home runs and 14 RBI, and Reilly batted .471 with a home run and seven RBI.

The Region VI Tournament concludes on Friday with the championship game(s).
