Lady Bison Sign King
June 19, 2008
Former Keller (Texas) High School All-American Kylie King has signed to play softball at Oklahoma Baptist University.
King, who can play second and third base, transfers from McClennan College where she led the team to two National Junior College Tournaments and was selected for a JuCo All-Star game.
At Keller, she hit .336 and was a first-team All-District pick and a member of the 2005 5A State Champions and 2006 State runners-up under coach Maureen Fritz. King was picked as an All-Region and All-American in high school by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. She was All-State and was selected to the Northeast Tarrant County Super Team.
"Everywhere Kylie goes, she wins," said OBU coach Pam Fink. "She's a big addition to the team and she has a chance to be a terrific leader."
The daughter of Ralph and Pam King, Kylie also did well in the classroom. A National Honor Society member, King was a four-time Academic All-District at Keller and was named an All-American Student Athlete at McClellan.
"I picked OBU because of the people and the Christian atmosphere," said King.
