OBU Homecoming Chapel Features Whitlock, Award Recipients

The chapel service also will recognize 13 Profile in Excellence Award recipients. The recipients are Gerald Adams, '78; Richard Cole, '75; F. Don Cooper, '60; Shirley Coyner, ex '52; Judy Elledge, '68; Sam and Donna Friend, '58; Dr. Marvin Hall, ex '54; Dr. Lynn Hughes, '61; Charles King, '80; Jeremie Kubicek, '93; Reggie May, '81; and Col. C.E. McDaniel, '55.

The alumni award recipients represent a variety of occupations and ministries in seven states. Adams, who lives in Shawnee, serves as Chief of Staff to Governor Brad Henry's office. Cole is co-founder, chairman and CEO of Geeks on Call in Virginia Beach, Va. Cooper is a retired physicist who lives in Missouri City, Texas. Coyner serves as an occupational health nurse for ConocoPhillips in Bartlesville, Okla. Judy Elledge is senior counsel for ConocoPhillips in Houston, Texas.

Also honored will be Sam and Donna Friend, of Bothell, Wash., a retired pastor and retired educator. Hall is a retired pastor in Oklahoma City. Hughes works as a medical doctor and surgeon in Huntersville, N.C. King is music director of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem in Israel. Kubicek is CEO of Giant Impact in Duluth, Ga. May serves as minister of music for Stetson Baptist Church in Deland, Fla., and as senior chaplain for the Deland Police Department. McDaniel, who lives in Valdosta, Ga., is retired from the United States Marine Corps.
