The second cohort of Oklahoma Baptist University's International Graduate School will graduate on Saturday, March 7, at 2:30 p.m. at University Baptist Church in Shawnee. Five students have completed requirements for the OBU-IGS master of business administration degree. The public is invited to attend the ceremonies.
OBU's International Graduate School M.B.A. degree program is conducted one night per week for 18 months, structured around a cohort system in which participants begin and end the program in a pre-determined sequence of courses with the same group of students.
OBU President David W. Whitlock will offer a welcome and recognitions during the ceremony. Dr. Kyle Tresch, dean of OBU's Paul Dickinson School of Business, will give the commencement address. Andrew Ranson, who graduated with the inaugural IGS cohort in 2008, will present special music. Dr. Deborah Blue, OBU senior vice president for academic affairs, will confer the degrees and present the charge.
Students graduating at Saturday's ceremony include Anthony Cargill, Oklahoma City; Ive Drummond, Shawnee, Okla.; Marcelo Drummond, Shawnee, Okla.; Alan Schmook, Oklahoma City; and Jennifer Thornton, Oklahoma City.
OBU-IGS courses are offered at 111 Harrison in downtown Oklahoma City. In addition to the M.B.A. degree program, the university launched a new master of science degree program in nursing last month. More information about OBU's International Graduate School is available at igs.okbu.edu.
