Morris Named Director of Development for OKC Region

"Brian Morris joins the university advancement team at an important time in the life of OBU," said Will Smallwood, vice president for university advancement. "His background in collegiate fundraising and business will enhance our efforts in reaching the goals of the Vision for a New Century Capital Campaign. Brian brings a calling and a passion for development in Christian liberal arts higher education that I am confident will quickly earn the trust and respect of Oklahoma Baptist University's alumni, donors and friends."

Morris worked with Elevate Minds while founding the 3M3 Consulting Group in Edmond, Okla., in May 2012 to provide non-profit organizations with fundraising assistance. He previously served as an area representative for Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Edmond. He was a senior account executive with Cowboy Sports Properties (Learfield Sports), the official multi-media and sponsorship sales provider for Oklahoma State University athletics, in Oklahoma City, and previously with Sooner Sports Properties, also with Learfield Sports.

He served in several athletics development roles in Wichita State University's Intercollegiate Athletics Department. As a member of the athletic director's senior management team, he was responsible for planning, budgeting and goal-setting for the athletics development department. He secured a $1.2 million naming-rights gift for the Bombardier Learjet Indoor Baseball Practice Facility and maintained oversight of the $3.4 million annual fund for the Shocker Athletic Scholarship Organization.

Morris also served as assistant athletics director for development at Arkansas State University's Intercollegiate Athletics Department and assistant director for athletics development at the University of Oklahoma Intercollegiate Athletics Department.

He earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communications from Kansas State University. He currently is pursuing a master's degree from Wichita State University.
