Rachel Wood to Speak in Chapel April 24

April 16, 2013

Wood and her family have served cross-culturally long-term in East Asia with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention since 1997. They were involved in overseeing strategy for church planting and discipleship among a remote unreached people group. Most recently, they supervised mission personnel across five countries. This year, Wood and her husband have served as the East Asian Peoples Stateside Strategy Liaisons for the IMB, based in Richmond, Va. They have three children: a son in high school, a daughter in middle school, and a son in elementary school.

Following the chapel service, Wood will present a message of encouragement during a luncheon in the Geiger Center, rooms 218-220. The cost of the luncheon is $10. Reservations may be made with the OBU Spiritual Life office by calling (405) 585-5700 or emailing tanya.ritchie@okbu.edu.

Dale Griffin, dean of spiritual life at OBU, invites the women of Oklahoma Baptist churches to join in the special day on Bison Hill, noting Women's Missions and Ministry Day is an important event on campus recognizing women for their valued contributions to OBU.
