OBU to Host Fine Arts Showcase During Homecoming Nov. 11

Oklahoma Baptist University's annual Fine Arts Showcase, featuring the Warren M. Angell College of Fine Arts, will take place Friday, Nov. 11, at 8:30 p.m. in Raley Chapel's Potter Auditorium. The event is part of OBU's homecoming activities. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
Participating in the concert are Symphonic Winds, University Chorale, University Ringers, Bison Glee Club, David’s Creed, Bisonettes, Bison Jazz Orchestra and 519 Collective. The evening will include a tribute to the armed forces, in observance of Veterans Day, in appreciation for all of those who have served to defend our nation.
Symphonic Winds, under the direction of Dr. Evan Chancellor, will perform, “O Be Joyful in the Lord” and “We Will Worship the Lamb of Glory.”
The University Chorale, directed by Dr. Brent Ballweg, will perform “Praise Ye the Lord” and “Circle of Life.”
Dr. Lee Hinson will direct the University Ringers in “Crown Him with Many Crowns.”
Dr. Christopher W. Mathews will direct the Bison Glee Club as they perform “Praise Him!” and “Over the Rainbow.”
David’s Creed, under the direction of Dr. Stephen Sims, will perform “Come, People of the Risen King.” 519 Collective, under the direction of Justin Pierce, will perform “Gone Under.”
The Bisonette Glee Club, under the direction of Dr. Jim Vernon, will perform “I Will Sing of Your Love” and “Esto les Digo.”
The Bison Jazz Orchestra, also directed by Justin Pierce, will perform “Big Swing Face.”
To close out the night, the Bisonette Glee Club, the Bison Glee Club and the University Chorale will combine and perform “Hallelujah” from Handel’s “Messiah.”
