OBU Students Participate in Music and Memory Program
February 13, 2017
At Oklahoma Baptist University, our passion for education and compassion goes far beyond the classroom. Every year, students majoring in music education have the option to participate in one of the only Music and Memory programs in the state of Oklahoma.
Music and Memory is a non-profit organization that brings the power of music into the lives of people with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other cognitive and physicals challenges to help them reconnect with the world through music-triggered memories.
OBU students have partnered with the Baptist Village Community’s Music and Memory program and have formed meaningful relationships with its residents. This group of outstanding students was recently featured in an article on New Music Box, a publication from New Music USA, discussing the emotional power of the Music and Memory program and its impact on residents and students alike.
