Senior Ryan Ross Delivers OBU Chapel Message April 19

April 19, 2017

Ryan Ross, a senior pastoral ministry major from Oklahoma City, delivered the chapel address at OBU Wednesday, April 19. The service took place in Raley Chapel’s Potter Auditorium on the OBU campus in Shawnee. He taught on the story of the prodigal son from Luke 15.

“When it comes to what we think about what Christianity actually is and what the Gospel message actually is, a lot of us have latched onto a misunderstanding that completely affects the way we experience it,” he said. “So, we believe the lie about what the Gospel is and it completely affects the way we relate to God and the way we relate to each other.”

Ross was chosen to deliver the message by the faculty of the Hobbs College of Theology and Ministry. Along with his major in pastoral ministry, he is minoring in business administration. He has been serving at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Oklahoma City the past three years as a student ministry intern. He plans to marry Braelyn Johnson, a senior at OBU, this summer and will then attend Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
