Tignor to Speak at OBU Business Forum April 24

April 20, 2017

Brent Tignor, a 1999 OBU alumnus, will be the featured speaker during the University’s next Business Forum, April 24, at 10 a.m. His lecture will be held in the Tulsa Royalties Auditorium of the Bailey Business Center on OBU’s campus in Shawnee. The talk is hosted by the Paul Dickinson College of Business.

Tignor graduated from OBU in ’99 with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, and his wife, Heather, also graduated from OBU in ’99. They and their daughter, Audrey, recently relocated to the New York City metropolitan area, when he accepted the position of vice president of human resources for Balchem Corporation. He has held the position of human resources manager in numerous businesses and corporate settings.

Tignor was selected to the inaugural “LinkedIn 100” class of 2013 recognizing a group of top human capital professionals from around the world. His ability to communicate and engage an audience as a speaker and writer has led to many opportunities to speak at conferences and contribute to various publications.

He is a dynamic global human resources executive with exceptional business acumen. Tignor is passionate about helping people and organizations maximize their potential, and he possesses a deep understanding of international expansion strategies, including mergers and acquisitions. He has experience building diverse teams in multicultural environments, with focused experience in Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Dr. David Houghton, dean of the Dickinson College of Business, is pleased to welcome Tignor to campus and is excited for the College’s students to learn from his experiences.

“The Business Forum is a great way to connect business professionals, in this instance one of OBU’s very successful alumni, with our students and faculty,” he said. “Brent’s significant industry and international experience will be inspirational and help attendees to consider how they too can use their careers to influence the world.”
