Dr. Robert Stewart to Speak at Philosophy Forum March 6

OBU will host Dr. Robert Stewart as a guest lecturer for the next Philosophy Forum Friday, March 6. The event will take place in the Tulsa Royalties Auditorium in Bailey Business Center at 4 p.m. Stewart will present on “The Whole Gospel for the Whole World.”

Stewart is a professor of philosophy and theology at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, where he has served for more than 16 years. Besides being a professor of theology, Stewart has published numerous books and journal articles over his career, concerning living with the truth of Christianity. In addition, Stewart is the general editor of the Studies in Christian Apologetics monograph series from B&H Academic. Stewart has also served as pastor and interim pastor at many different churches in the New Orleans area as well as in Texas. He has atraveled the world speaking at different Universities in North America and Europe.

Dr. Stewart has Oklahoma roots as received his Bachelor of Arts from Cameron University in Lawton in 1980. He then went on to earn his Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1992. He earned a Doctor of Philosophy from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2000. He has spoken numerous times at OBU in the past, for lectures, forums and special events.

Philosophy Forums are open to all OBU students, faculty and staff, as well as members of the community. Stewart will also be speaking the following day, March 7, at the Generation Why? Student Apologetics Conference held at OBU.
