OBU Harvest Court Candidates Announced

The 2024 OBU Harvest Court candidates were recently announced. The senior men and women will be recognized during the annual Harvest Court ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 19, at halftime of the Bison football game against Southwestern Oklahoma State University. The game kicks off at 6 p.m. inside Crain Family Stadium at the Hurt Complex. The game is part of The Weekend, OBU’s homecoming celebration.
Members of the Harvest Court were each nominated by their peers in six categories. Those categories include Most Servant-Like Man, Most Servant-Like Woman, Best All-Around Man, Best All-Around Woman, Harvest King and Harvest Queen. Winners are determined by a student body vote.
The crowning of the Harvest Queen is a longstanding OBU tradition dating back to 1920. The first Harvest King was crowned in 1996. Later, the categories of Most Servant-Like Man and Woman and Best All-Around Man and Woman were added.
The 2024 nominees for Harvest Queen include Ryleigh Andrews, a vocal music education major from Choctaw, Oklahoma; Addison Saunders, an elementary education major from Joplin, Missouri; and Ruby Dilts, a journalism and mass communication major with an emphasis in print media from Lewisville, Texas.
The 2024 nominees for Harvest King include Sergio Vazquez, a musical arts major minoring in education from Sahuarita, Arizona; Adam Clifton, a political science major from Duncan, Oklahoma; and Ryan Harris, a biology major from Edmond, Oklahoma.
Nominees for the 2024 Most Servant-Like Man are Roman James, a Christian ministry major from Tulsa; Brendan Miller, a Christian ministry major with a student emphasis from Corn, Oklahoma; and Steven Schmidt, an accounting major from Battle Ground, Washington.
Nominees for the 2024 Most Servant-Like Woman are Zoe Duck, a communication studies major from Beggs, Oklahoma; Addison Miller (Beatty), a natural science major from Oklahoma City; and Shelby Green, an English secondary education major from Wichita, Kansas.
All-Around Man Nominees for 2024 are Carl Wilkerson, a philosophy major from Sand Springs, Oklahoma; Judah Skelton, a Christian ministry major with a minor in worship studies from Edmond, Oklahoma and Jubal Nelson, a computer science major from Cokato, Minn.
All-Around Woman Nominees for 2024 are Jenna King, a communication studies major with a minor in music from Piedmont, Oklahoma; Grace Adcock, a forensic psychology major with a minor in exercise science from Owasso, Oklahoma; and Abby Ettinger, a communications studies major from Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
These students will also be honored during a special Harvest Court dinner on the evening of Oct. 18. During the event, the nominees will celebrate with family, friends, faculty and staff as they are recognized for their accomplishments and involvement on campus during their time on Bison Hill.
